About The Founders
Mariatu Mansaray and Alusine Babah Kamara are the founders of Sierra Leone Media Educators, a nonprofit organization that advocate for human rights and community development.
At the onset of the Ebola pandemic back in 2014, it was projected that tens of thousands of children and women who lost their parents and husbands during the pandemic will lose inheritance of their relatives proprieties if they don't have people to stand there for them. At the same time million will drop out of school due to lack of financial, moral support.
After spotting these critical needs from both widows and orphans, Mariatu Mansaray and Journalist Alusine Babah Kamara formed the Sierra Leone Media Educators.
The mission of the organization is to restore hope among vulnerable children, women and communities that have been affected by poverty, abuse, violence, disease and other natural calamities.
To date, they have supported 100s of orphans education and 100s of widows regain their rights to own proprieties.
